Dimitris Agathopoulos is an independent New Media artist.
His artistic research and work explore Virtual and Augmented Reality experiences and narratives, algorithmic art, AI-driven art, 3D sculpting and modeling, experimental animation, motion capture, photogrammetry, projection mapping, digital scenography, and painting.
As both a researcher and artist, he actively participates in art events, festivals, workshops, and research projects. He believes CGI-based New Media Art has the flexibility to exist across a variety of spaces, including social media, online platforms, game engines, and participatory networks.
He currently teaches 3D Design in the MA program in Digital Arts at the Athens School of Fine Arts.
Dimitris studied Painting at the Department of Fine and Applied Arts of the School of Fine Arts at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed a two-year MA in "Digital Arts" at the Athens School of Fine Arts.
